Portland is the perfect place to take engagement photos, especially if you want to capture both the thriving city and its lush surroundings. I had such a fun time exploring the many sides of Portland with Rose and Zack. We spend the afternoon exploring the Pearl District and the evening wandering through the Rose Garden. It is easy to see that this couple loves each other and it was so fun getting to shoot with them. Rose and Zack’s love is truly something out of a fairytale and I can’t wait to be a part of their wedding next year.

And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.”

I LOVED shooting with Katey and Artur! They are such a fun couple. We were constantly making each other laugh and I can honestly say that it was one of the most fun I have ever had on a shoot. If being awesome wasn’t enough, they are also super adorable. The way they look at each other just melts my heart. You can seriously feel the love in these photos.

I only had to do a little bit of begging to get this shoot with Whitney. I met Whitney through DAMchic at the beginning of this year and it has been a long steady love affair. This is one sassy gem of a girl. Whitney and I were spending the day together working on a shoot for DAMchic when she was telling me about the concept of shooting with her friends. Instead of the traditional champagne photo they were going to use Mad Dogs and instead of posing in front of their sorority they wanted to shoot with the fraternity they frequent. TOO GOOD! Needless to say I had a blast shooting with Whitney, Alex, Mary Kate, and Kaylee. I wish all of them the best of luck and many more Mad Dogs.

“I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun.”

Ronja has been so patient waiting for these photos! They are finally here! Ronja was one of my roommates this past year at Oregon State and it was so fun to live with her. She is one smart cookie. Ronja graduated with a degree in Engineering which is so impressive. I lost track of how many times I saw her pulling long nights at our kitchen table studying things that I couldn’t even begin to comprehend. I wish all the luck in the world to Ronja as she goes back to Germany and becomes a famous engineer.

“You are educated. Your certification is in your degree. You may think of it as the ticket to the good life. Let me ask you to think of an alternative. Think of it as your ticket to change the world.”

These photos are a perfect example of why I love studying at Oregon State. The best part about going to a school that has a rich history in agriculture is that we have a ton of really old and beautiful buildings that show off our amazing natural collections. These photos were taken in one of several different greenhouses on campus. Each room has its own habitat and we decided that we should go for the tropical/cactus room. I love shooting with Lydia because she is always down to do anything. I called her up, told her I had some great summer pieces and asked if she could model for me. We had a blast looking at all of the things growing, a lot of which we had never seen before. It is amazing the things you can find in a place you have lived for so long. Thanks OSU College of Agriculture for letting us use your amazing space and thank you Lydia for being amazing and as perfect as always.
